Dr. Heather Carmichael Olson is a Clinical Professor in the University of Washington School of Medicine, and a respected leader in the field of fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD). As a child-clinical and developmental psychologist, for over 30 years she has explored the effects of prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE) on child and family development in research, teaching, public policy and direct service to children and families. Her work focuses on development of effective interventions for children and adolescents at high risk because of PAE and FASD, and their families. She led development of Families Moving Forward Foundations, a scientifically validated, family-focused intervention, and related interventions. She is Director of the Families Moving Forward Program Office.
