Transform Your Practice with Evidence-based FASD Intervention

The Families Moving Forward (FMF) Specialist Training equips master’s-level professionals with the expertise to deliver a scientifically validated intervention for families affected by prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE) and fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD). Recognized as a promising practice by the California Evidence-Based Clearinghouse and recommended by the CDC, this comprehensive program combines positive behavior support, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy to create lasting positive outcomes.

FMF Specialist Training is the first step in FMF Program Training. FMF Specialist training is conducted by an FMF Trainer over six full days of virtual training, usually over the course of a few weeks. FMF Specialist Training is conducted with groups of no more than 10-12 clinicians. The peer support that occurs in small groups is ideal. From the training, you will gain:
  • Practical understanding of FASD’s brain-based impact on behavior
  • Advanced techniques for reframing challenging behaviors
  • Customizable intervention strategies for diverse family needs
  • Realistic behavior planning and development of accommodations
  • Evidence-based methods to increase parenting efficacy
  • Strategies to decrease disruptive behaviors through understanding
  • Access to the online FMF Website Portal for full intervention materials specially designed for this clinical population
  • Become a PAE and FASD-informed provider
Cost: $2,500
